Staff Summer Field Trip to Miller Hull + Lunch

Last month the Architecture Department Staff stepped out of the office during a sunny Thursday August afternoon and got together for their annual summertime field trip. This year we started off the field trip by touring Department Chair Dave Miller’s firm, Miller Hull, located downtown in Pioneer Square. While there Dave gave us a tour of the office, where we looked at a variety of projects (completed, under construction and in the works), met a number of wonderful Miller Hull employees and even ran into a handful of recent UW M.Arch graduates who now work at the firm! After the tour we went to Shanna Sukol’s home where we celebrated the great summer we’d had together outside on her patio over a wonderful lunch she prepared.

Those who came on the field trip included: Dave Miller, Shanna Sukol, Claudine Manio, Kim Sawada, Karen Helland and Kate Murphy (from the Architecture Office); Steven Withycombe and Penny Maulden (from the Shop); and Linnea Kretz (from the IDL). Thank you to both Dave and Shanna for hosting us on this field trip and for a great Thursday afternoon! Below are some photos from our afternoon together.
