The University of Washington Department of Architecture, the Professional Advisory Council and 47 Degrees North presents:

Material Evidence 2011
November 4, 2011
6:00 PM
Gould Hall 208
University of Washington

If form in architecture is considered as a verb as well as a noun, an action as well as an object, then the façade or skin of a building, can be seen as being formed by the building section, the exterior wall details, and the materials and process of construction.

This exhibition presents six recent projects by six celebrated Seattle based firms, atelierjones, Graham Baba, Miller Hull, Mithun, Olsen Kundig, and Shed.  The emphasis is an in-depth examination of the architectural tectonics of each project, with particular emphasis on the exterior wall envelope. Each project has one 4’x5’ panel which includes, finished exterior photographs, construction drawings and details, construction photos, and actual material samples. Together, they reveal the depth of architectural appearance.

The exhibit is open to the public from 9-5 pm, Monday – Friday in Gould Hall 208.
